Maize is one of the most important cereal crops in the world. The demand for maize is constantly growing as we are not only using it for food anymore but also for medicines, chemicals and of course – biofuel. Through our experience in cultivating maize we have picked out the best seeds on the market to work with: “DEKALB®” by Monsanto, “Sensor®” by Euralis, “Cobalt®”, “Olympic®” and “Simba®” by Syngenta.
In 2012 we have also started a project on building a BioGas plant near the town of Balchik. A partner in this initiative is one of the leading manufacturers of BioGas plants in Europe – the german company “MT-Energie”. The total capacity of electrical and heating power will be 3MW with co-generation. The project will be carried out in three stages, starting with electrical power or 1 MW – to be completed by the end of 2012 and the remaining 2MW to be completed by 2014.
The green electrical energy will be feed into the national power grid, while the heating power from the co-generation will be used in various processes around the site. Throughout the year the heat will be used in an own factory for processing fruit and vegetables, greenhouses and a grain dryer.
We are also planning on transforming the heat into cool energy through the process of tri-generation for our cool storage areas.
Last but not least, through the decomposition of the maize in the digesters we will end up with thousands of tons of high-quality bio-fertilizer to be used on our crops. Isn’t this just amazing!
So much produce with no waste whatsoever. The future is now.
